Build Your Custom AI Workforce
Architect a team of AI assistants — each with a role, skills, and tasks to take off your plate.
Lesson 1: Choose Your Home Base
Your "home base" is the primary AI platform you'll build your workforce on. You'll use it every day, so choose the one that fits your working style best.
| Platform | Best For | Strengths | Considerations | Best Fit For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Claude ↗ | Deep thinking, long documents, strategy, writing in your voice, nuanced responses | Reads and remembers large amounts of context, exceptionally strong writer, Projects and Skills make it easy to build a structured AI workforce, strong privacy by default | Newer to the market than ChatGPT, fewer third-party integrations currently | Coaches, consultants, service providers, content creators, anyone who writes a lot |
| ChatGPT ↗ | Versatility, creative brainstorming, image generation, wide range of plugins and integrations | Largest user base, most tutorials and resources available, Custom GPTs are powerful, DALL-E image generation built in, strong voice mode | Can feel less consistent in tone, responses sometimes prioritize length over clarity | Business owners who want the most options and integrations, visual content creators, anyone already in the Google ecosystem |
| Gemini ↗ | Google Workspace users, research, real-time information | Deeply integrated with Google Docs, Gmail, Drive, and Calendar, strong at pulling current web information, Gems are easy to build | Still maturing compared to Claude and ChatGPT, voice and tone can feel more generic | Business owners who live in Google Workspace and want AI woven into their existing tools |
Lesson 2: Architect Your AI Team
Think of these as real team members. Each assistant has a specific role, a set of responsibilities, and a first task waiting for them. Fill in each card:
Content & Marketing Assistant
Sales & Prospecting Assistant
Operations & Planning Assistant
Research & Strategy Assistant

Lesson 3: Building Your Workforce in Claude
Now it is time to build. In this lesson you will see exactly how to set up your AI workforce inside Claude using three features that work together to create a powerful, organized, and deeply personalized system: Projects, Skills, and Connectors.
Projects
A Project in Claude is a dedicated workspace for a specific role or area of your business. Think of it like giving each assistant their own office. Your content assistant lives in one Project, your sales assistant in another, your operations assistant in a third. Each Project holds its own uploaded files, its own instructions, and its own context so Claude always knows exactly which role it is playing.
To create a Project:
Skills
Skills are custom instructions you build once that Claude follows automatically every time you use that Project. Instead of re-explaining your preferences at the start of every conversation, you set your Skills and Claude just knows. This is how you train Claude to write in your exact voice, follow your specific format, and deliver results that feel aligned without extra editing.
Examples of Skills you might build:
- → Always write in a warm, conversational tone without corporate jargon
- → Never use em dashes
- → Always end emails with a clear call to action
- → Format social posts with a hook, value, and engagement question
- → When writing proposals always lead with the client's problem before presenting the solution
To add a Skill:
Connectors
Connectors allow Claude to link directly to the tools you already use. This means Claude can pull information from your existing systems and work inside your real workflow instead of sitting separately from it. Current Connectors available in Claude include Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, and more. Check your Claude settings for the most current list as new Connectors are added regularly.
To set up a Connector:
Putting It All Together
Once your Projects are set up, your Skills are written, and your Connectors are live, you have a real AI workforce running inside Claude. Each assistant knows its role, knows your brand, and knows how to deliver results that feel like you. This is where AI stops being a tool you have to manage and starts being a team that supports you.

Lesson 4: Calling in the Consultants
Beyond your home base, these specialist tools are your "consultants" — you call them in for specific jobs:
ChatGPT Custom GPTs
Open ↗When to use: Image creation with DALL-E, tasks where a specific pre-built GPT exists, voice mode conversations. Call in a Custom GPT when you need image generation, a specific integration, or a task that a pre-built assistant already handles perfectly.
Gemini Gems
Open ↗When to use: Working inside Google Workspace, real-time web research, pulling current information quickly. Gems shine brightest when your work lives inside Google Docs, Gmail, or Google Sheets.
Manus
Open ↗When to use: Market research, competitor analysis, building your Business Manifesto, creating presentations from scratch. Think of it as your research and build consultant.
Perplexity
Open ↗When to use: Quick industry research, fact-checking, staying current on trends, pre-call research on a prospect or company. Fast, sourced, reliable answers without digging through search results.
The Golden Rule
Your home base handles the deep ongoing work. Your consultants handle the specialized one-off jobs. Never let a consultant become a second home base or you are back to feeling scattered. Use them with intention, bring the insights back to your home base, and keep everything organized in one place.
